Keeping Up with Gar

Y’all, it feels like it’s been so long since I’ve blogged. How have you been? You’re good? You just got that new promotion at work?? Congratulations! And that new hair cut looks really good on you.

What’s new with me? Oh nothing much. Just keeping busy like always.

  • I saw Rumors last night done by Furman Theatre. It was AMAZING. It was a laugh-out-loud comedy. I highly recommend it. Also fun story- during the performance I saw, an actor hit his head on a light (he was supposed to because comedy), but the lightbulb shattered. The gasp from the audience was so funny. The actors played it off like champs and at the end of the scene you believed that it was on purpose.
  • I successfully made an image processor for my computer science class. So basically a made a dumb-downed version of photoshop. It was actually pretty cool, only mildly frustrating to do, and does what it’s supposed to, for the most part.
  • I also saw the production of Into the Woods done by the Pauper Players here on campus. It was super fun to watch.
    • Speaking of musicals, I also saw Legally Blonde the Musical and Sweeny Todd at Winthrop and in Atlanta, respectfully. So that makes 4 stage shows in 2 weeks. Basically, I’m the most cultured person you know.
  • I FINALLY REGISTERED FOR AN ABSENTEE BALLOT. Now I can vote. Except bad news, I got my primary ballot, and I messed it up because I’m bad at reading directions (also at deciding on who to vote for) so now I can’t send it in. But I’ll be able to vote in the actual election so it’s okay.
  • I auditioned and got a part in a ten-minute play. It’s sponsored by the Order of Furman Theatre and the mini play festival takes place on April 2. My birthday. So it should be a fun day considering in the play that I get to yell and say bad words. I highly recommend it and you should come see it.

Yeah. That’s basically everything new in my life.
