16 things you should do in 2016

  1. Tell people you love them more often. Actually mean it.
  2. Exercise. Go to the PAC (Physical Activities Center) twice a week for 45 min. (to work out, not just stare at people/your phone screen)
  3. Thank people for even the smallest things they do that make you happy or improve your life.
  4. Walk to class more, take the shuttle less.
  5. Start doing your homework while the sun is still up. This way, you will have more time to spend with friends and you will go to bed earlier.
  6. Go to work on time. Being late and giving excuses is for losers. You don’t have time to be a loser.
  7. Make half of your plate vegetables. You took an entire semester worth of wellness classes, and you should remember all the things you learned. Besides it’s good for you.
  8. Stop making assumptions about people and what they’re thinking. Sometimes all you need to do is talk to them.
  9. When you’re getting that FOMO (fear of missing out), just stop yourself and think “do I really want to get out of the comfort of my warm, cozy bed to socialize with people?” I’ll tell you the answer. No. Let people do their thing, while you do YOUR thing.
  10. Make an hour every day for yourself. Even if that means laying in your bed watching Buzzfeed videos and eating instant ramen in your pajamas. (guilty)
  11. Put scholarship over social life. It’s simple. You’re in college to get an education which comes with certain responsibilities. If you have a paper due at 9AM the next morning, you cannot go watch a movie with your friend who recently broke up and wants a shoulder to cry on. Instead, finish your paper and take your friend to COOKOUT where they can find the true meaning of love (trays, quesadillas, and milkshakes)
  12. Clear up your closet. You know you hate orange shirts and you can’t wear them for the life of you, so do yourself a favor, open your closet, and throw away those 2 shirts. Goodwill is literally 7 min away.
  13. Respond to your email as soon as you can. EXCEPT if you’re angry. NEVER write an email while angry. Instead use your drafts.
  14. Cut back on the online shopping. I know you love Old navy and loft, as well as all of the weird stuff you find on amazon, but you really need to save some money and time. Instead, take your friend and spend some quality time together going to the stores during the weekend when you really need a break.
  15. Update your blog more often. It’s a good way to remember things you’ve done that make your life a bit brighter and have taught you something.
  16. Smile more. It looks good on you 🙂
