Summer time in the StudioLab is generally a pretty slow time for us.  There aren’t as many students on campus who are working on writing papers or editing videos, so we put our talents to use in different ways during the summer.

This summer, we are organizing our space, rearranging some furniture, and just generally cleaning up around the StudioLab so we’re ready for fall.  Also, we’re experimenting with some Adobe Creative Suite software packages we don’t use very often, such as Adobe Encore (used to create DVD menus).

The other exciting news is that we’re getting brand new computers this summer!  They won’t look much different from our previous computers, and they will still run both Windows and Apple operating systems.  However, they will have twice the RAM that our current computers have (which means speedier video editing and rendering) as well as double the storage space!

Summer in the StudioLab may have a slow pace, but it’s not boring!
