African American Newspapers Individual Long Run Titles

A new Box now appears in the Historical Newspaper page on the News Sources Libguide. With the addition of Proquest titles and others from within the Black Studies Center the libraries now offer access to ten 20th century newspapers owned and edited by African Americans. With the exception of the Daily Defender, each of the titles contain runs of 60+ years of continuous publication. The Daily Defender however is supplemented by a century long run of its weekly counterpart, The Chicago Defender.
