READ AND EXPLORE CELEBRATES

At OLLI, we love to learn AND we love to party! Please join us here at the Herring Center this Thursday, March 16, from 1:30 to 3:30, as we wrap up our first ever “Read & Explore with OLLI” in true Piedmont style. Ron Rash’s One Foot in Eden has suggested a delightful afternoon of: Tastes of Jocassee refreshments including church-supper-worthy pound cake and honest-to-goodness Cheerwine.  Toe-tappin’ Bluegrass Music and Storytelling with the NitPickers. Good ole Southern cooking demonstrations with Elaine Granger. Some of OLLI’s finest woodcarvers plying their craft, and some of our finest hand quilters quilting away and inviting us to join in the fun. A presentation on the rare Oconee Bells wildflowers that grow nowhere else in the whole world but our own Piedmont “backyard.” (Scott Withrow in HC111 at 2:00)  Free to all, whether you’ve read our book or not… though loaner copies of One Foot in Eden are still available in the office to read (or re-read!) RSVP is helpful but not required. We’d love to see you there!
