We found in the January 21, 2000 edition of The Paladin student newspaper, that Maya Angelou spoke in McAlister Auditorium on January 24, 2000 in an “Evening with Maya Angelou,” sponsored by Furman University Student Activities Board (FUSAB).

I attended the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts at Furman University June-July 1993 where she was a guest speaker.
I saw Maya Angelo at Furman in the 1990’s but not sure what date it was. Are you able to advise the date and the event that she was the guest speaker?
