Furman on the Move: The Plyler Years

Have you ever wondered who Plyler Hall was named for?

A new exhibit is on display in the Library Special Collections. Furman on the Move: The Plyler Years 1939-1964 chronicles the many ways in which Furman University shifted and adapted during the presidency of Dr. John L. Plyler. Through pictures, letters, and other memorabilia the exhibit showcases Dr. Plyler’s impact and contributions to the university during this important period.

Exhibition Dates: September 6 – December 16, 2011
Location: 2nd Floor of the James B. Duke Library (take stairs or elevator to right of the main entrance.
Open 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday

Opening Reception: September 16, 4 pm
