The Furman Libraries are experimenting with a different “search and discovery” experience for connecting with the library’s resources. This new version, titled WorldCat Local will search the library’s article databases, digital book collections, the catalog, and all libraries worldwide at the same time resulting in a greater range of resources uncovered on any topic. Despite searching worldwide, those items held or subscribed to by Furman will be listed first.
We will be conducting focus group discussions with students in the coming weeks to determine its usability and degree of success according to students’ experiences with WorldCat Local.
