May Experience Week 3 (and 1/2)… Final Thoughts

Now that my MayX has officially ended, I think it’s safe to say that these past few weeks have easily accounted for some of my most memorable experiences at Furman thus far. Not only did I learn an extraordinary amount about how to engage an audience with music they might not recognize and show them “what makes it great”, but I also became much closer with my fellow classmates… They even introduced me to my first Madea movie (because apparently it’s an “experience to be had”). That said, here is a list of things I will miss now that my May Experience has ended:

1. Working with my awesome quartet every day… They are so talented!
2. Dr. Hutton’s enthusiasm… even when we stumbled through our presentations the first few tries.
3. My friend Logan’s sass… and his Madea impressions.
4. Eating pizza and sharing funny orchestra stories in the music building courtyard.
5. Spontaneously going to a nail salon… with the boys. Yes, they participated.
6. Sharing music and engaging with the community.

Though I say that I will miss these things, they aren’t really gone… We will all be returning to Furman this coming year and there are many more adventures to be had!
