FDOC Spring 2015!

Hello all! Happy New Term! I can’t believe it’s 2015, I feel so old. I still think that 2007 was three years ago, so personally I’m mind blown, not to mention the fact that 2015 is the year that Marty McFly went to in Back to the Future Part II. Where are all the flying cars and my self-drying jacket???

Today was the first day of classes for the spring semester. Now that I’ve declared a major (finally), I am well on my way to completing those, taking both Psychology 201 and 202, and Spanish 270 (I’m a Psychology and Spanish double major). After three semesters of GERs and classes that will probably not be of any help toward my major, I’m incredibly excited to be on the right track! The one caveat in my semester is my 7:30 Wellness class (basically gym and health). I have no idea what I was thinking signing up for such an early class. I’m only one day in and already I’m exhausted!

The start of a new semester means not only new classes, but also new opportunities to expand your horizons and meet new people. This past weekend I participated in the first two rounds of Formal Recruitment for Sorority Rush. Regardless of if I end up in a sorority, it’s an amazing way to meet women in all different parts of the Furman community and I’m really excited to be a part of it. In addition to Greek life, I’m hoping to create deeper relationships with the people that I met last semester and really throw myself into the organizations that I’m already in, like RLC and working with the Humane Society.

After having such an incredible last semester both personally and academically, I can’t wait to see what the Spring 2015 term has in store for me!

Happy FDOC!
