All DIN Episode 20

In Episode 20, Coach Richey and Dan begin the podcast by giving an update on the coaching staff changes that have taken place for the upcoming season. The first big announcement is the addition of Jon D’Angelo to our staff. Coach Richey expresses how he believes Jon will make a significant impact the minute he gets here. We then transition to an overview of the summer, also focusing on some of the players that have showed tremendous improvements on the court and in the weight room. Among those players are Jalen Williams, Alex Hunter, Jordan Lyons, Andrew Brown, and Matt Rafferty. Coach Richey then provides an update on the health status of the two seniors Matt Rafferty and Andrew Brown. The second big announcement is the release of the 2018-19 basketball schedule, with headline games being at Villanova, Loyola-Chicago, and LSU. The third big announcement is the addition of the video boards that will be installed in September. This addition will provide fan interaction and instant replays which will allow for a greater fan experience. Coach Richey then transitions to the Downtown dinner that occurred at the Soby’s Loft and how he sees the vision and impact that Furman Basketball is having on the community. To wrap up, Coach Richey introduces a new segment titled Bob’s Book Review. The first book recommendation is “You Haven’t Taught Until They Have Learned”, which is on leadership and the art of teaching. The second book recommendation is “Messy”, which discusses how disorder can stimulate different ways to solve problems and how messiness can have some benefit to everyday life.
