Created and hosted by Allen Funt, the show “Candid Camera” was initially an Armed Forces Radio program. Funt was extremely successful in recording soldiers’ gripes and broadcast them on the radio. The show’s main objective was to catch people unaware that they were on camera. In later years, the show changed dramatically. Most people that fell subject to this surveillance were civilians and the culprits of the prank were celebrities. Today is the 65th anniversary of the show!
