The newest display in the library’s government documents area uses some recent and well-publicized cases involving students to show how a case makes its way to the Supreme Court.
Of course, the library has all the resources needed to track a case through the court system. The entire set of the U.S. Reports is shelved in the Gov. Docs. area (JU 6.8) so you can browse all the cases and opinions of the justices since the Court’s establishment in 1789. Lower court cases and the most recent slip opinions of the high court are available online.
Come and see how cases are organized. See if you agree with the justices’ opinions in these cases! And remember, the research assistance desk is always happy to assist you with any questions on using our legal resources.
