A Look Back at Homecoming 2025

As Homecoming brought a wave of familiar faces across campus, Furman Libraries participated in the annual tailgate. Alumni stopped by to reconnect, pick up library swag, and get a glimpse of what we’ve been up to this year.

Our yearbooks featuring the reunion years were easily the star of the day. Visitors gathered around to flip through old volumes, pointing out versions of themselves, their classmates, and sometimes even their parents. The photo booth added a fun touch, whether someone chose the Furman Fairy wand or the Paladin helmet as their prop. We also shared bookmarks made from real vintage library cards and introduced our newest button design.

For those who remember decorating the Charlie Peace bust, we offered an homage to that tradition with a paper statue to stick accessories on the beloved figure. Inside, the Bicentennial Exhibit in Special Collections and Archives offered a meaningful look into the past, highlighting artifacts from Furman’s days of yore.

A paper cut out of the Charlie Peace bust with football merchandise, a book, glasses, and an "I heart my library" sign velcroed on.

A few folks made special visits, including two alumni student assistants who returned to say hello to their former supervisor, Robyn Andrews. Throughout the day, alumni wandered the stacks and study spaces, finding the spots where they once spent countless hours reading, writing, and finding their footing.

Homecoming reminded us once again that Furman Libraries isn’t just a place you passed through. It’s a place that stays with you. And no matter how long it’s been, you’ll always have a home here.
