On April 28, Furman students participated in a card sort activity to help improve the library website. The activity involved sorting 30+ common website tasks such as searching the library catalog or activating a New York Times account. The students sorted these tasks into groups they felt were logical and then named those groups.
Student participants enjoyed free donuts and coffee, and were automatically entered into a raffle to win a private study room during spring finals. The activity, which took 5-10 minutes, prompted honest and engaging feedback about the website, and highlighted which tasks were most important to our students.
The winner of the private study room was first-year student, Ella Wallach ’28.
