Every year, the Library celebrates the richness that international learning adds to the Furman Advantage. This includes all the international students that come to study at Furman as well as all the opportunities to travel away that come with semester and May X programs.
This year, international students participated in hanging flags from around the world in the James B. Duke Library (The Maxwell Music Library and Sanders Science Library also have flags.) We marveled at the colors, the designs, and symbolism that the flags bring to our library! They remind us that we are just a part of a large and diverse world.
In addition, you may notice our display of books on Viet Nam located near the elevator on the main floor. Viet Nam was chosen as our theme this year in honor of the 21 Vietnamese first year students who came this year.
