We’re excited to welcome two new members to the Furman University Libraries team: Samantha Bailey, our Resource Management Assistant, and Kristina Switzer, our Weekend Circulation Supervisor! Both bring enthusiasm and fresh perspectives to their roles, and we’re thrilled to have them join us.

Samantha discovered her passion for library work early in her career and is eager to dive into her new role. She’s been enjoying learning from her colleagues and navigating the responsibilities of resource management. A lover of books and a dedicated reader, she’s always happy to recommend a favorite, like Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. You can read more about Samantha and her journey into librarianship in her full post.

Kristina has embraced the variety her role offers, from supervising the library to helping students with their needs. She’s particularly fond of our Special Collections, where she enjoys exploring the medieval manuscripts that connect with her background in art history. When she’s not at work, she enjoys a mix of creative hobbies and has some great study tips for avoiding burnout. Learn more about Kristina and her love for libraries in her post.

We’re excited to have both Samantha and Kristina on our team. Be sure to check out their full introductions to get to know them better!
