What is a favorite memory you have from your time working and studying in the library?

“There are too many to count. The library was always exciting for me, because I never knew what question I would get or who I would see that day. I enjoyed getting tapped to do special tasks, like making buttons for the English Department with Ms. Fairbairn, sorting flags with Ms. Baker, and setting up for events with Ms. Diaz and Ms. Eastergard.”

What’s the best book or article you had to read for a class? Why?

“The readings that I had for ENG 254: Prison Literature were exceptional, because I got a perspective on the prison system that I had never had before. This included “Life Sentences: Writings from Inside an American Prison” by The Elsinore-Bennu Think Tank for Restorative Justice, and “Prison Writing in 20th-century America” by H. Bruce Franklin (Editor). Both of these collections included works written by people who were incarcerated.”

How has working in the library impacted you professionally and/or academically?

“It has strengthened my skills in customer service and teamwork, and has made me appreciate learning even more!”
