Where did you like to study when you were at Furman? Current and former students tell us that one of their favorite study spots is the front porch of the Duke Library. They recount memories of gathering with classmates or professors to work on a project, read a book, or cram before a final exam. They reminisce about listening to the fountain, breathing the fresh air, greeting friends who pass by, or even watching the antics of a mischievous squirrel.
We want to ensure everyone can continue to enjoy our front porch by providing more comfortable, accessible spaces to gather, research, laugh, and learn. Our front porch furniture is over 30 years old, and in desperate need of a makeover! This year, we want to dedicate all Dins Day gifts to the purchase of new furniture for the Duke Library front porch.
