Libby’s Passage to India

Libby’s Passage to India – On Monday, November 16th, our very own Outreach Librarian, Libby Young, began her 3 ½ -week India adventure as part of the India Study Away program.   14 students and faculty, Dr. Veena Khandke and Dr. Karni Bhati departed earlier this term and spent time in Chennai, India and Sri Lanka.  Libby will join the group in Delhi.

Just a few of the stops on the itinerary include:

  • Rajpath – India Gate, imperial monuments
  • UNESCO World Heritage Site – Humayun’s Tomb – Garden Mausoleum of the Mughal emperor
  • Bahai Temple (Lotus Temple)
  • Nehru Memorial Museum and Library
  • Raj Ghat
  • Taj Mahal
  • Safari in Ranthambore National Park

Libby and the students are expected to return to the states December 9th.  We are certain she will have amazing stories to tell and lots of pictures to share!  We wish safe travels to all our Furman study away groups.
