Peace Corps Exhibit

A new display in the James B. Duke Library highlights the recently published government document, Peace Corps Perspective: a Look at the People, Places, and Cultures of the First 140 Peace Corps Host Countries from 1964 to 2014. This book captures the work that Peace Corps Volunteers conduct as part of the program ranging from agriculture, community economic development, education, environment, health, and youth development. Peace Corps Volunteers teach English and computer literacy, raise awareness around HIV/AIDS and malaria, facilitate community action and environmental issues, and educate girls and boys in leadership.

Attend the Furman Connections networking event to talk with local Peace Corps Recruiter, Charles Portney.  This event will be held on Thursday, November 5th from 4:30-6:00 pm in the Watkins Room of the Trone Student Center. Pre-registration is required.  Questions? Contact Kristin Irwin by email (kristin.irwin@furman.edu) or call 864-294-3138.
