Improved Catalog Search

Improvements were recently made to the library catalog to make specific formats and locations easier to find. Using one easy drop-down menu, you can limit searches to print books, all electronic formats, newspapers, and all reference materials (print in three locations plus electronic), and more. You can choose these limitations either before or after a search has been conducted.

If you start by doing a search in the search-bar at the top of any library webpage, you can select a format using the drop-down at the top of the page.

If you start out in the advanced search window, you can select the format before doing the search.

We have also cleaned up the language in “Material Type,” making it easier to differentiate between the types of materials you may want to limit to when searching.  Thanks to the library faculty and staff members in Discovery Services for implementing these changes!
