Recent Addition to Special Collections and Archives

We recently received this wonderful Furman scarf designed by Furman alumna, Frankie Welch (’48).  This scarf was first unveiled at a fashion show and alumnae tea in the university rose garden as part of Alumni Weekend in 1969.  Mrs. Welch was the owner of Frankie Welch of Virginia boutique in Alexandria, and designed scarves for many notable people. The Special Collections and Archives department now has 10 Frankie Welch scarves in our collection.  If you would like to view the Frankie Welch collection, please call us at (864) 294-2194 or e-mail Special Collections.  We are a small department and we want to ensure that we have the materials you need waiting for you!  Please note that Visitor Parking permits are now required.  Special Collections and Archives is open Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
