The digicenter has completed the Board of Trustees Minutes digitization project, begun August 2010. The collection itself is available only to the Furman community using their network login information.
In LUNA, there are 260 separate documents spanning 1825 to 1949, with the earlier documents comprised of an entire year and later, longer documents comprised of individual meetings and/or external reports presented at those meetings. These documents total more than 2,100 pages. The entire digitization and conversion project spanned 1824 to 1990 and was more than 12,000 pages.
Typed documents can be searched using the search function in LUNA (select “Catalog Data & text in Documents” over the main search box). Some of the earlier minutes were transcribed using an old typewriter, so the text recognition is less than ideal. This is one of the many reasons we took the time to create thorough metadata.
