Our cataloging staff and amazing student workers have brought about a sight not seen in years–no books waiting to be cataloged!
Last summer the library started an in-house “shelf ready” program to get the books and materials we purchase to the shelves faster. It streamlines the cataloging procedures our staff do, as well as reducing the physical processing of materials.
Student workers do all the physical processing, saving the library money and creating jobs. Student worker positions in the cataloging department have gone from 3 to 6!
