Today we asked people at Furman’s radio station, WPLS, what they’re reading. These people do not let classes get in the way of doing some reading for pleasure!

Carnivous Carnival (A Series of Unfortunate Events, Vol. 9)/Lemony Snicket
The grim account of the three orphaned Baudelaire children, this series is both gothic and humorous, with enough mystery in each novel to keep the reader wanting more.

Merideth Rankin:
The Last American Man/ Elizabeth Perkins
40something Eustace Conway lived in a teepee the entire time he attended App State and and has gradually accumulated over 1,000 acres in NC near Boone simply by saving the small wages he earns for coming to elementary schools and parks to teach kids about living naturally.

Matt Werner:
Wolves of the Calla/ Stephen King
Continuing my quest to say “I finished ‘The Dark Tower’ series.”

Bud Lehn:
Moon River and Me/Andy Williams
Andy, who is 82 years young and still performing at his “Moon River Theatre” tells the story of his upbringing and long show business career. (Andy’s music is played on my show, among others.)

Maia Pujara:
Love in the Time of Cholera/ Gabriel García Márquez.

John Richter:
State of Fear/Michael Crichton.
Amazing book, always supports his fiction with scientific fact.

Sam Hunter:
