Missy Barnes

Missy Barnes is an Associate Professor of Theatre and Dance who specializes in musical theatre at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Throughout her career she has worked as an actor, director, choreographer, and movement coach on numerous productions in a variety of cities including New Orleans, Chicago, Austin, and Orlando. In addition to her life-long work as a theatrician, Missy is certified to teach a number of specific methods related to psycho-physical awareness and performance (including the Alexander Technique, Body-Mind Centering, and the Michael Chekhov acting technique). She is also a certified Mindfulness Facilitator, with research interests in the application of mindfulness techniques to performance and education as well as theatre and social justice.
Abby Hollern

Abby serves as the Director for the Center for Inclusion & Campus Involvement at Rollins College. She creates opportunities for all students in getting involved on campus with a very specific and intentional focus on the experience and success of underrepresented students. Additionally on campus, Abby directs the Lucy Cross Center for Women and their Allies, leads LGBTQ+ training and support, serves as a standing member of wide Diversity Council, and leads the campus’ Bias Incident Response Team.
Matt Nichter

Matt Nichter is Assistant Professor of Sociology and coordinator of the Africa & African-American Studies program at Rollins College, where he teaches courses on inequality and social movements. His research focuses on the relationship between the black freedom struggle, labor unions, and the socialist movement.
Mary Robinson

Mary Robinson (she/her/hers) is Assistant Director of International Programs at Rollins College and advises students through the study abroad experience. She has been at Rollins for 8 years and served as staff co-chair of the Diversity Council. She has a master’s in Liberal Studies from Rollins. Robinson currently teaches a Global Citizenship course at Rollins and previously taught Humanities for 6 years at Valencia College. Robinson has used her lived experience as a transracial/transnational Korean adoptee to mentor adoptee youth of various ages, including students at Rollins, since 2013. She serves on the NAFSA DEI subcommittee and The Forum on Education Abroad 2020-21 Working Group on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Around the World. Mary’s greatest joys are her daughter, pets, and travel.
Joshua Savala

Joshua Savala is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Rollins College. My research interests center around questions of labor, social movements, and the forging of solidarity in Latin America (especially Peru and Chile). He teaches class on Latin America and the Pacific, including Revolutionary Latin America, Chile in the 1970s, and Colonial Latin America. Savala has been involved with a number of social movements over the years, from the anti-war in Iraq movement (2002-2003), student-worker collaborations on campus, union organizing, and immigrant rights.
