Are you having a hard time keeping your finger on the pulse of the nation? In addition to major polling websites like those listed above, you can also access polls and surveys through the databases, FACTIVA and LexisNexis.

To find polls in FACTIVA, follow these steps from the All Databases link on the library’s homepage:

  • Open FACTIVA
  • Click “Subject” in the left column to view your options.

  • Click the “+” symbol for Content Types to view your options.

  • Scroll to the bottom and click on “Surveys/Polls” (the category will be added to your search).

  • Enter your keyword(s) in the search box. Pay attention to the Date field. The default is “In the last 3 months.” Change as needed.

  • Results can be sorted from newest to oldest.

To find polls in LexisNexis, follow these steps from the All Databases link on the library’s homepage:

  • Open LexisNexis
  • Go to “Search the News” near the bottom of the page and click the down arrow.

Lexis 1

  • Type “Gallup Poll News Service” in the Source Title field and type your keyword(s) in the Search For field. Click the go button.

Lexis 2

  • You can sort your results from newest to oldest.
