So, how’s senior year?!

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of adjusting to the swing of senior year. It is SO weird to be the “oldest and wisest” on campus – guess I need to pull the senior privilege card in the dining hall lines now?!

Our campus is going through the process of sorority extension, so I have had the opportunity to serve as a member of the Panhellenic Extension Committee, and have had meetings with the national officers from Zeta Tau Alpha, Alpha Phi, and Phi Mu sororities over the past two weeks. I also had the fortune to brush up on my campus tours (it had been 2 weeks since my last tour of the summer!) at the Admission Ambassador retreat a few weekends ago, and planned and executed the Panhellenic Council retreat. I also got to guest speak at Confidence as a Collegian, an event sponsored by Panhellenic to promote and facilitate friendships between upperclassmen Greek women and freshman women. It’s been busy, but I have done my best to have a mentality of embracing the opportunity for extracurricular development.

All of this aside, the best part of being back in the swing of things is being reunited with everyone! My favorite aspect of Furman life is easily the ability to see familiar faces and friends almost constantly. Just walking around the campus from class to class, I’m able to see all kinds of friends – girls from my freshman hall, people current and past classes, study away friends, and more.

Grad school apps are underway as well – I’ve almost tackled the resume, and worked on my Personal Statement all weekend. I even began one of the formal applications, so I’m feeling pretty confident that I will be able to make the November 1 deadline.

Summer’s gone, and the busy spirit of fall is well underway, but I’m enjoying every moment!
